KELLY Holmes has hosted another training camp for the elite young athletes she coached in South Africa in October.

The re-union for the On Camp With Kelly training group took place at Loughborough University on Saturday and Sunday.

The participants included the eight young female middle distance runners who were selected to train with Kelly in South Africa.

They were joined by their coaches, training partners and parents, plus other athletes who missed out on selection or who couldn’t travel to South Africa last year.

Dame Kelly said: "I am keen to maintain an on-going relationship with the athletes who attended my training camp last year, and now involve their coaches in order to pass on my experiences and those of the people I work with."

Dame Kelly, who invited her own coach Margo Jennings, to help with the training, said she planned to work with more young British athletes to nurture talent in the future.

She said: "Making it as a top athlete takes time, hard work and guidance - some of this group have the qualities it takes to be champions."
