STRIKER David Graham has completed his move to Gillingham. The forward, who was released by Sheffield Wednesday on Monday, has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at Priestfield.

Graham, who has played for the Gills during pre-season, is in line to make his debut at Cheltenham in the League 1 opener on Saturday.

He said: “Obviously I feel I can play at a higher level and if I can do that with Gillingham then great

“My time at Sheffield Wednesday wasn’t the best but that’s in the past. I have a point to prove but if you didn’t you wouldn’t be playing.

“It’s been a long drawn out couple of weeks for me and I’m glad to have got it over and done with. You’ve got to aim high and we’re looking for automatic promotion.”

Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson said: "David knows where the goal is and will complement our already good strike-force.

"This year we need greater strength in depth and signing players of David's ability shows that we want to have a right go."
