BIRTHDAY boy Leroy Griffiths dedicated his goal in Saturday's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest to his manager Mark Stimson.
Griffiths, who celebrated his 31st birthday on Sunday, knows he is fortunate to be having another chance at league football and thanked Stimson for giving him that opportunity.
The striker is currently on trial and is hoping that his 80th minute strike will help his cause as he looks to end four years out of the professional game.
“Anything’s possible,” he said. “One time I wasn’t playing football at the beginning of the season and I didn’t have a pre-season.
“I’ve played with Stimson before, he knows what I’m about.
"It’s a big step to bring in a player who hasn’t been doing anything and I want to repay him with goals and say thanks to him for putting me in and showing faith in me.
“This is my present to him from me. I’m 31 and still kicking.”
