GILLINGHAM registered a second away win in eight days in Yorkshire with Saturday’s triumph at Hillsborough.

Fresh from the previous week’s 3-1 success in Bradford, the club polished off luckless Sheffield Wednesday with a gritty performance that kept the home side nailed to the foot of the table.

Rod Wallace opened the scoring with his second goal in eight days when he turned in Marlon King’s fifth minute cross.

Skipper Paul Smith sealed victory with Gillingham’s second and his first of the season in the 73rd minute.
