ALAN CURBISHLEY increased growing confusion over his future with a weekend declaration that he will see out the final year of his Charlton contract should he fall in the race to become England manager.
If, as seems likely, the job as Sven Goran Eriksson’s successor is handed to Middlesbrough’s Steve McClaren, it had been suggested that Curbishley would quit The Valley in favour of joining another Premiership club.
But Curbishley announced at the weekend: "I expect to be here next season. I’ve one year left and want to see my contract out. I’ll sit down at the end of the season when everything’s calmed down."
The Addicks are playing their final home match of the season on Saturday when Blackburn are the visitors for a 5.15pm kick-off.
