GREGG HARRISON finished a creditable fifth in the national finals of the Sunshine Golf Challenge in Portugal.

The 49-year-old Kent Messenger Group champion, who plays off 17 handicap at Gillingham Golf Club, carded rounds of 36, 29 and 34 Stableford points in the Algarve.

The national title was won by Rick Stone (h16, Chichester Observer), with rounds of 44, 36 and 33 points

Gregg said: "What a great week - superbly organised and excellent courses and weather. I look forward to defending my KM title next year."
