CHRIS KINNEAR: tough few weeks ahead
CHRIS KINNEAR: tough few weeks ahead

Margate 1 Dorchester 2

MARGATE manager Chris Kinnear faces one of the biggest challenges of his career after this heartbreaking defeat.

Gate, battling to avoid relegation, conceded a goal in the final minute to lose a game they often looked like winning. The Margate defence failed to clear and the league' leading scorer Matt Groves drove the ball home.

Dorchester had taken the lead in the 4ist minute when gate keeper Peter Trego failed to grab hold of a corner from the left nd the ball sailed into the net.

When Rocky Baptise headed an equaliser on 78 minutes it appeared Gate would secure at least a draw. But slack defensive work allowed Groves ito nip in and score at the death.

The Thanet club, one off the bottom of the table, now have just three games left to preserve their Nationwide South status. they start that uphill task against Eastbourne.
