Hectic period at home for Gate

MARGATE face the prospect of playing five successive home games in the space of a fortnight as they bid to catch up on the backlog of fixtures caused by pitch problems at Hartsdown Park.

They start against Leyton next Tuesday, followed by Heybridge Swifts (March 24), Horsham (March 27), Walton & Hersham March 31) and promotion rivals Billericay on April 3.

They dropped out of the Ryman League Premier Division play-off places following Hampton's 1-1 draw with Horsham on Tuesday night.

This Saturday they visit mid-table Staines on who won 4-2 in Thanet last November.
