GILLINGHAM boss Andy Hessenthaler has pinpointed three potential threats in the Sheffield side his team face on Sunday - including former Priestfield striker Paul Shaw.
Hessenthaler said: “Paul's got a bit of confidence about him. He has scored two goals and if I am honest, he is a player we really miss.
“Unfortunately, Paul took the decision to leave as he felt it was a chance for him to get into the Premiership with Sheffield United. It didn’t work out for him that way but he’s a clever player who we know all about."
The manager added: “Michael Tong is another good player and they have signed striker Danny Cadamarteri from Leeds who is a handful. Neil Warnock teams are always difficult to play against but we’re looking forward to it.”
Meanwhile it's been revealed that two new faces could soon be donning Gillingham shirts - 25-year-old Nigerian George Abbey and Cardiff City’s John Robinson.
Hessenthaler said: “George played right back during the midweek reserves game against Millwall but can also play central defence. He is someone we quite like but we need to make a decision soon for everyone’s benefit."
Midfielder Robinson, 33, has also played for Charlton and Brighton. “He’s someone whose name has come up because he’s unsettled at Cardiff as he is a Southern boy who wants to get back down this way,” added Hessenthaler.
