PATRICK AGYEMANG makes his Gillingham debut at Derby on Saturday with player-manager Andy Hessenthaler warning against instant judgements being made on the 23-year-old striker.
After clinching Wimbledon's top scorer for £150,000 on a three-and-a-half year contract - and handing him the departed Paul Shaw's No 10 shirt - Hessenthaler said: "Patrick is strong, young and very exciting.
But the Gillingham player-manager stressed: "He is certainly not the finished article."
He added: "When Marlon King came from Barnet he took time to settle and it will be the same for Patrick. It could take a few years even. I don't know.
"And remember Paul Shaw was an experienced player when he came to the club and it took him a while to settle. Our supporters were patient with both players before they really established themselves."
