GILLINGHAM boss Andy Hessenthaler was linked at the weekend with the vacant managership of Preston who are expected to announce David Moyes' successor at the end of the season.
A Preston spokesman said: "We have received applications from 30 to 40 top class people but no decision will be made until the end of the season."
Meanwhile, Gillingham will be playing former tenants Brighton and Hove Albion next season in the Nationwide League, Division 1, after Peter Taylor's Sussex club clinched promotion with Reading's failure to beat Tranmere at the weekend.
