FORMER Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler could find out soon whether he has a future at the club under Ronnie Jepson’s regime.

Hessenthaler is still seeking a route back into management and his agent Andy Mills is keen to sort out the situation one way or another.

Mills said: “I’m looking to talk to the chairman, probably in the next week or so as to what the future holds.

“It will probably move rapidly from then on. Either he will be continuing as he is or there will be a drastic change. We will discuss the options.

“Andy would like to get back into management but it changes as these jobs do and don’t come up. If a job offer was on the table then we’d probably move towards that direction.”

Hessenthaler has made just one substitute appearance since Jepson took over and has been limited to reserve-team outings.

Mills added: “We need to decide how active he’s going to be and whether Ronnie (Jepson) sees him as part of the team.

“We will be holding discussions in the next week on Andy’s future and then decide the what, where, when and hows.”
