MANY Gillingham supporters who arrived at Priestfield after noon for Saturday's derby with Millwall found they were unable to get in.

They were left disappointed after being turned away from the eagerly awaited clash against their old rivals. The official attendance of 7,543 was way below Priestfield's capacity of 10,992.

This followed a police request to the club to stop selling tickets after noon to assist with segregation.

PC Tony Walsh, of the local football liaison unit, said: “This was not an instruction to the club but purely a request which the club accepted.”

Meanwhile, Gillingham have been allocated 2,000 tickets for Saturday’s top of the table clash with Norwich at Carrow Road. These are on sale at the Priestfield ticket office priced at £18 adults, £13 senior citizens and £13 under 16s.

All Gillingham supporters will be seated in Carrow Road's South Stand's blocks F,G,H and J.
