Hockton the match-winner as Bromley show character

GOAL: Danny Hockton
GOAL: Danny Hockton

Bromley 3 Basingstoke 2

DANNY HOCKTON netted his third goal in as many games as Bromley twice came from behind to win on an entertaining afternoon at Hayes Lane on Saturday.

Michael Charles had given visitors Basingstoke a first half lead, finishing from an acute angle after hesitation from goalkeeper Andy Walker.

First half substitute Gareth Williams supplied the equaliser two minutes after the break when he swept in Mark Corneille's cross.

More poor Bromley defending gifted Basingtoke their second goal, with Francis Duku's failure to deal with the long ball allowing Scott Fitzgerald in to beat Walker.

Barry Moore restored parity on 60 minutes, crashing in a shot from the edge of the area after being teed up by Sam Wood.

The prolific Hockton then hooked in on 68 minutes to finish off a move that had seen Wood hit the bar.

In truth, Bromley's winning margin should have been greater as they created numerous chances in a dominant second half display.
