Inspirational skipper Matt Holland has been voted Charlton's Player of the Year after capturing over half the votes in the supporters' ballot.

Holland, 34, who has been the club's midfield driving force this season, was presented with the award on Sunday night.

He said: "I've finished in the top three on a few occasions over the years so it's great to finally win it because it's such a great honour."

Manager Alan Pardew said: "Matt is a fantastic servant for Charlton and fully deserves the award."

Runner-up was China captain and fellow midfielder Zheng Zhi with central defender Patrick McCarthy third.

Holland also scooped the Charlton Athletic Disabled Supporters' Association Player of the Year accolade.

The Supporters' Club Players' Player award went to goalkeeper Nicky Weaver while Luke Varney's first in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace won Goal of the Season

Eighteen-year-old Maidstone youngster Scott Wagstaff capped to a season to remember by winning the Young Player of the Year. Wagstaff, who lives at Leybourne, signed a first professional contract at the turn of the year and was on the bench for the first time on Saturday against Queens Park Rangers.

He is expected to make his first team debut this Saturday at Barnsley.
