There can be few players in the Gillingham team that know League 1 as well as Danny Hollands.
The on-loan midfielder won a championship medal from England’s third tier in 2012 having previously been relegated in 2008.
If anyone understands League 1 it’s him and he believes Gillingham have all the tools to get out of their current predicament.
“There is quality here and there are some great young players and some players who have been there and done it,” said the 27-year-old Charlton midfielder.
“There are players who I have played against over the years and they have been right up there with the best of them. So there is everything here.
“It is just fine margins and it’s luck. We’ve got a game-plan in place which everyone is happy with and we are confident if we stick to the game-plan we have enough to go and beat Crewe.
“We just need that first win and once we do the tide will turn.
“There is enough quality to not just survive in the league but to certainly be in the top half and challenging for the play-offs.”
