LORDSWOOD FC boss Barry Zillwood has been named Kent League manager of the month for December following his side's rapid rise up the table.

Three wins and a draw helped drag Lordswood away from the bottom of the table but Zillwood praised his team for their efforts.

He said: "It's amazing what three wins can do. I'm more pleased with the points we have to be truthful but this award is all down to the players.

"All I can do is motivate them and it's them who have to go out and do it on the pitch. The players deserve the award.

"I just hope it doesn't curse us as these things tend to do. Maybe we shouldn't play again this month just in case."
