Blackheath & Bromley's Scott Huggins coped admirably with the wet and windy conditions at the CAU Inter Counties Championships at Bedford.

Although he is still a junior, Huggins retained the pole vault title he won last year with a leap of 4.70m.

Coach Allan Williams was delighted with Huggins' performance, saying: “Scott was magnificent. He was the only one to master the foul conditions.”
