THE Gillingham-based English National Hockey League (South) leaders, Invicta Dynamos, this weekend turn their attentions to the cups.
The Mos step up a level to play in the Premier Cup on Saturday away at Swindon Lynx.
Invicta lost their opening game in this competition when a severely depleted side were beaten 8-0 at the Isle of Wight.
Swindon also lost their opening game, 4-2 to Romford Raiders, which made it six games without a win for them.
The Mos will know all about players like Lynx captain Lee Braithwaite and Canadian Ken Forshee, who scored 41 goals and 53 assists last season.
There will also be new faces like Frank DeMasi, 27, who is described as a ‘speedster’ and has won numerous awards for his scoring prowess, although he may be suspended.
On Sunday the Mos play biggest rivals Oxford City Stars in the League Cup, the third meeting between the two with each side having one victory under their belts.
The Mos are on form, beating the Peterborough Islanders 6-2 on the road in their last game, and player-coach Phil Chard is confident.
He said: “We’re without Matt Drake, suspended for the Swindon game and Kevin Parrish, who is out for between four and six weeks with a knee injury, but we are looking forward to having two hard games against real teams this weekend.”
