Invicta Dynamos 9 Milton Keynes Thunder 0

THE Invicta Dynamos secured back-to-back English National Hockey League (South) titles after an emphatic 9-0 win over Milton Keynes Thunder on Sunday.

With two away games against Oxford City Stars and Basingstoke Buffalo remaining the unbeaten Dynamos can no longer be caught.

Captain Kev Lake put his side 2-0 up in the first period and a quiet second session will only be remembered for Andy Smith, picking up a sensational centre-ice pass from Peter Beerling to score the goal of the game.

The Mos were never in danger of losing this game and turned on the style in the final third to the delight of the 800-strong full house, scoring six more goals.

Just 11 seconds in Canadian Mike Allaby scored unassisted for the first of his two goals and there were a couple of netbusters from Alex Shaw, Stuart Low and Andy Smith.

Two-goal forward Low said: "It’s amazing. I’ve not been in a team like this for ages who work so hard for each other. Tonight’s been absolutely brilliant and scoring twice and being man-of-the-match is a dream come true."

Defenceman Peter Korff said: "This is turning out to be another great year. In terms of team spirit this is the best team ever. We have won the league, now we want to go down in history as the first team in Medway to go a whole season unbeaten."
