Derby County 1 Gillingham 0
A MORTEN Bisgaard goal on 32 minutes separates Gillingham and Derby at half-time at Pride Park.
Poor away defending allowed Grzegorz Rasiak to head the ball back across goal and it eventually fell to Bisgaard who did well to hook it into the net past the stranded Jason Brown.
The goal came just seconds after Darius Henderson had had a great opportunity to give Gillingham the lead, but scuffed his shot wide when clean through.
Henderson earlier saw his left-foot shot saved by Lee Camp after Mike Flynn had capitalised on an error by Derby’s Tom Huddlestone.
The play-off chasing home side have impressed. Rasiak had the best of their other chances, but dragged his effort a couple of yards wide of the post when well placed.
The recalled Darren Byfield had a glorious opportunity to equalise on the stroke of half-time, but wastefully lashed the ball over the bar with only the keeper to beat.
Gillingham: Brown, Nosworthy, Cox, Hope, McEveley, Southall, Smith, Flynn, Douglas, Byfield, Henderson. Subs: Banks, Ashby, Hills, Crofts, Jarvis.
