GILLINGHAM are hoping that both Iffy Onuora and Mark Patterson will be fit for Saturday's home game against struggling Rotherham. In-form Onuora has worked hard this week with club physiotherapist Ken Steggles in an effort satisfy him of his fitness after tearing thigh muscles in the Worthington Cup tie against Millwall.
Onuora, whose importance to the attack was magnified in the defeats against Bradford City and Wolves, believes he has a good chance of being fit.
Patterson, too, is hopeful of playing after pulling up with a hamstring strain during training on Monday.
"I'm told the problem could have something to do with the sciatic nerve but I'm hopeful of playing on Saturday," said Patterson. "At a push I could have played against Wolves but the manager did not want to take any chances."
But centre-back Adrian Pennock will miss the game with the hamstring injury that kept him out against Wolves.
