Stimson awards winger with extended stay at Priestfield

Albert Jarrett has been handed a deal until the end of the season by Gillingham boss Mark Stimson.

The 24-year-old winger has been on a month to month contract since Stimson handed him a chance to impress in September.

Stimson feels the wide-man will improve even more now he has the luxury of a longer deal.

“It’s a good contract for him,” said Stimson. “There are loads of incentives for him and if he performs then the contract will improve.

“I’m sure he will only get better by being here until the end of the season. Sometimes it’s difficult when you are playing on a trial period, maybe he’s been a bit tense but we’ve seen him in training and he’s got something different to what the other players have got and hopefully we’ll be able to see that on the main pitch.”

Jarrett has so far made 10 appearances for the club.
