Two years after making his Premiership debut, winger Gillingham Albert Jarrett is ready to start all over again.
In September 2006, Jarrett appeared for Watford at Bolton in the top flight of English football but it’s been a downward spiral ever since for the 23-year-old.
He made his debut for Gillingham on Saturday and is ready to get his career back on track. Jarrett missed the whole of last season with a knee injury but is determined to make up for lost time.
“You have to start again somewhere and Gillingham have given me that opportunity,” he said. “I’m looking to grab that with both hands.
“I’m only here for a month but hopefully I can impress in that time and become part of the gaffer’s plans for the foreseeable future.
“I’ve been working hard in training and I’ve had two 90 minutes in the reserves. That’s helping me and I’m finding my match fitness.
“Hopefully I will get to start a game soon and show the fans what I can do and try to cement my place in the team.”
