Gillingham v Brentford

GILLINGHAM welcome back top scorer Darren Byfield for tonight's visit of promotion-chasing Brentford to Priestfield.

The eight-goal striker returns after a four match suspension as the Gills look to claw their way out of the League 1 relegation zone.

The club's winless run now stretches to seven matches after Saturday's horror show at Bristol City and manager Ronnie Jepson is expecting his players to make amends at Priestfield.

He said: "It will be a difficult game. If the players want to hide behind me they can and I've told them them. But I want them to be men, to be man enough to go out there and put in a performance.

"We're going to have to be up for a fight because they're a good team and are second top."

Jepson also looks set to recall winger Matt Jarvis to the starting line-up after a promising second half display at Ashton Gate.

"he made a difference," admitted Jepson. "He had a good week in training and I put him on and he was like the Matthew Jarvis of old so that's a plus for me."

Danny Jackman also played half a game on Saturday as he continues to recover from an ankle injury and Jepson will have to decide on the left-back's fitness.
