GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson is aiming to further strengthen the squad ahead of the new campaign.

He said: "There are still a few gaps and I would like another three players."

There's an air of growing optimism around Priestfield and Jepson stressed: "With the players we have brought in, there is a new regime at the club.

"But here is no use crowing about these things. The proof will be in the pudding and we'll see that a few months into the season."

The Gills will send a shadow team to Folkestone Invicta this Friday night, before travelling with their first team squad to Park View Road on Saturday for a friendly with Welling United.
