Gillingham v Walsall

GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson says he is desperate to finish the season on a high but thinks Saturday's final home game against Walsall will be a tough match.

Walsall have already been relegated to League 2 following their 3-1 defeat at home to Huddersfield last weekend.

Mark Kinsella has been put in temporary charge following the departure of Kevan Broadhurst on Monday and although Walsall are going through a difficult patch, Jepson believes the Saddlers will be no walkover.

He said: "It’s a shame they’ve been relegated this early as they’ll be nice and relaxed out there. With a new manager in charge, he’ll be as keen as mustard to get them going.

"He will be trying to make a claim for the job. The players will respond to Mark. He’s a good pro and will get the right response out of the players."
