Welling United 3 - 1 St Albans
NEW boy Danny Kedwell marked his Welling debut with a brace in an opening day win over St Albans.
But Welling had to come from behind to claim all three points after Lee Clarke headed the visitors into a 36th minute lead.
Welling equalised on the stroke of half-time when Matt Carruthers played in Kedwell for a neat right-foot finish.
Adrian Pennock's new-look side, which contained eight summer signings in the starting line-up, took the lead seven minutes into the second half when Carruthers reacted quickest to drill the ball home.
The victory was rounded off three minutes from time when Kedwell capped a fine individual display by heading home via the underside of the crossbar.
