GILLINGHAM have extended the stay of Plymouth keeper Romain Larrieu for a further month.

The French keeper played twice for the Gills last week and will now be available for the club’s next five matches.

Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson saw Larrieu keep a clean sheet on Friday night against Tranmere, only the third of the season for the club.

His previous game came at Swansea on the Tuesday night where he pulled off several impressive saves.

The 30-year-old Larrieu was brought to the club as emergency cover for Trinidad keeper Kelvin Jack, who remains out through injury.

Plymouth could recall the keeper at any time, however, as they have a 24-hour recall clause in the deal.

The transfer deadline for permanent signings ends on Wednesday night and Jepson will be working hard trying to tie strengthen the squad.

Striker Bas Savage meanwhile has yet to sign a new contract, after his previous one ran out at the weekend, with a six month deal on the table.
