Keeper's goal rescues point for Gate

Eastbourne Borough 1 Margate 1

GOALKEEPER Peter Trego scored an incredible goal to rescue a point for Margate and keep their faint survival hopes alive.

Trego launched a free kick from inside his own half which caught Eastbourne Borough keeper Lee Hook completely by surprise and he could only palm it into the net.

Earlier, the home side had taken the lead on 78 minutes when Simmonds was on hand to convert after Phil Warners deep cross had been flicked back across goal.

Margate really need to win their last two games to have any chance of staying in the Nationwide Conference South.
