NEIL RENAULT finished 14th in the Toronto Marathon in Canada on Sunday – and slashed nearly five minutes off his personal best in the process.

The 24-year-old from Walmer, near Deal, came home in 2 hours 18 minutes 55 seconds to improve on his time of 2:23:44 which he had set in finishing 17th in the London Marathon in April.

The Nottingham University student was a member of Team GB in Toronto who won the team prize ahead of Canada and Mexico.
