KENT have not ruled out taking legal action in their bid to gain compensatory points from their abandoned game with Worcestershire at flood ravaged New Road back in July.

Chairman Carl Openshaw wrote to the four counties who vetoed the ECB’s mitigation offer of nine points; namely Yorkshire, Lancashire, Durham and Warwickshire, but all four have since confirmed they are not prepared to budge.

Mr Openshaw said: “I am prepared to take this further and plan to speak with the ECB soon.

"I don’t want to be seen as whingeing after the event so we will be reviewing our options swiftly.”
