Sibton Park’s relegation from the Shepherd Neame Kent League Premier Division was sealed by a four-wicket defeat at home to Blackheath on Saturday.
The visitors’ matchwinner was Aiden Blizzard who blasted a superb 156 off 77 balls to lead them past their target of 254-6 in just 33.3 overs. The Lyminge side had batted solidly earlier on, with Terry Dunham (86) and Jake Benfield (57) leading the way, but it wasn’t enough to prevent them from heading for Division 1 next season along with already-relegated Whitstable.
Champions Hartley Country Club showed no signs of taking their foot off the pedal as they beat second-placed Bickley Park by five wickets.
James Hockley claimed 5-51 to help restrict Bickley to 196-9 from their 50 overs, and then the reliable James Thompson (76 not out) and Scott McKechnie (63) put on 128 for the fifth wicket to carry Hartley to within two runs of their target.
The closest game of the day was at Foxgrove Road where Beckenham edged past Bromley by one wicket.
After electing to bat Bromley were bowled out for 177, with Johan Malcolm taking 4-35. But Beckenham tumbled to 103-8 in reply before man-of-the-match Malcolm carried them to victory with an unbeaten 60.
The final two games were both low scoring affairs. At Whitstable, the home side were dismissed for just 79 by Sevenoaks Vine, with Miles Richardson taking 5-38 and Tom Parsons 4-26 to set up a 10-wicket victory.
And at Lordswood, Amjad Khan and Fabian Cowdrey claimed three wickets apiece as Bexley were dismissed for 135. Cowdrey then scored 65 to lead Lordswood to their six-wicket success.
