Kent v Hampshire
Rob Key's defeated Twenty20 Cup final side return to a slightly more sedate form of action at the St Lawrence ground on Wednesday with the start of their Canterbury Cricket Week clash with Hampshire.
The lowly visitors go into the LV Championship Division 1 game in eighth place in the four-day competition having won only once from 10 starts.
After such a run of poor form they have some selection issues and may consider omitting former Kent batsman Michael Carberry from their starting XI.
Kent meanwhile have fitness issues surrounding Darren Stevens who aggravated a groin strain in Saturday's three-run defeat to Middlesex and has been advised to rest or risk missing next month's Friends Provident Trophy final at Lord's.
As a result, Kent have cut short Neil Dexter's two-month loan stint with Essex that was due to end on August 5 and have drafted the South African-born player straight into their side.
Pace bowler Robbie Joseph replaces Simon Cook in the only other change to Kent's cup final side.
Canterbury Week has been a feature of the East Kent social calendar since 1842 and this will be its 166th year - the only breaks have been during the two world wars.
Famed for its ladies day hat competition on Thursday, packed hospitality marquees and marching bands, the entertainment starts at 11am.
