KENT re-started their first innings at 3.30pm after the loss of 48 overs on a rain-ruined opening day of their Frizzell Championship match with Surrey.
Heavy showers started at 11.49am and continued in bursts until 2.30pm, but within an hour the mopping up operation had been completed.
The hosts resumed on 24 for one, having lost Ed Smith (0) in the fifth over of the innings, and reached 43 before suffering their next loss four overs after the resumption.
Alex Loudon had reached 18 with three fours before he too followed a Bicknell leg-cutter to edge low to Azhar Mahmood at second slip.
