Kent pair Joe Denly and Sam Billings featured for England in their five-wicket T20 defeat to Australia on Tuesday.
England were restricted to 145-6 by the tourists who then knocked the runs off with three balls remaining at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
Missing some key players, including captain Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler, England included both Kent men for the final match of the T20 series.
Billings was caught at slip for four as England were left reliant on Jonny Bairstow (55) for their runs.
Denly, batting at six, finished 29 not out off 31 balls, edging three successive boundaries off Kane Richardson during his knock.
Dropped catches in Tuesday's match proved costly, including when Denly (0-8) found Mitchell Marsh's edge with just two to his name. Dawid Malan failed to take the catch at slip and it proved costly, as he helped guide Australia home, unbeaten on 39.
England missed the chance of a series whitewash and the chance to replace the Aussies at the top of the world rankings but they win the T20 series 2-1.
Billings will remain in the England squad for the ODI series against Australia, which starts on Friday at Old Trafford, but Denly returns to join up with Kent ahead of their T20 Blast match against Sussex on Saturday.
