KENT players Joe Denly and James Tredwell have been selected for England's Performance Programme in India this winter.
The programme, formerly the ECB National Academy Programme, starts on October 29 with two and a half weeks at the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough.
This is followed by a four-week High Performance Camp in India from mid-November to mid-December. The players will be based in Mohali and Chennai where they are expected to play two four-day matches.
The camp will also help to ensure that stand-by players for the England Test squad's tour of Sri Lanka are well prepared in the event of any call-ups as well as providing an ideal environment for them to develop their skills.
Denly and Tredwell will be hoping to do enough to put themselves in contention for a place on the England Lions One-Day International tour planned for February.
The squad for this tour will be confirmed in late December and the tour will be preceded by a preparation programme at Loughborough in January.
Chairman of Selectors, David Graveney, said: "The Test squad for the Sri Lanka Test Series will not be finalised until after the end of the current ODI Series and a number of players within this EPP squad will be considered by the Selectors for potential inclusion in the Test squad."
The 16-man England Performance Programme Squad for the first half of the winter is: Moeen Ali (Worcester), Tim Ambrose (Warwicks), Ravi Bopara (Essex), Tim Bresnan (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Leicester), Steven Davies (Worcester), Joe Denly (Kent), James Hildreth (Somerset), Phil Mustard (Durham), Graham Onions (Durham), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Chris Schofield (Surrey), James Tredwell (Kent), Chris Tremlett (Hampshire), Jonathan Trott (Warwicks), Luke Wright (Sussex).
