THOUGH he is only 28, Kent captain Rob Key is moving quickly toward joining a select band of legendary Kent batsmen.
Only three county players - Frank Woolley, Leslie Ames and Mark Benson - have recorded centuries against the full list of 16 opposing first-class counties.
All three, including Benson, who achieved the feat in 1992, played before Durham's promotion to first-class status, leaving Key as the man most likely to take a unique place in Kent batting history by scoring hundreds against 17 other first-class clubs.
Key's century against Warwickshire at Edgbaston, his 28th for Kent and the 33rd of his career, was his first against the Bears and represented the 13th county Key has reached treble figures against.
The former England right-hander has Worcestershire, Sussex, Glamorgan and Derbyshire remaining, in order to complete his full set.
