Kent chief executive Paul Millman has told Sky Sports News the county would not frustrate coach Graham Ford's ambitions by making him honour his contract.

Ford has emerged as the favourite to become the new England cricket coach, following Peter Moores' departure last week.

The 48-year-old has turned down previous opportunites with both India and New Zealand and has a long-term contract with Kent.

But he said at the weekend he would be interested in finding out more about the England role.
