KENT wicketkeeper Niall O’Brien has been reprimanded by the England and Wales Cricket Board for his conduct during Kent’s innings defeat to Durham last month.

The young Irishman was reported by match umpires Peter Willey and Allan Jones for using language that is obscene, offensive or insulting, a level one breach under the ECB’s code of conduct.

The penalty remains on O’Brien’s record for two years and any further level one indiscretion during that period will result in an automatic imposition of three penalty points.
