Kent's century-makers tally best for a decade

CENTURION: James Tredwell
CENTURION: James Tredwell

JAMES TREDWELL'S hundred against Yorkshire made him Kent's eighth centurion of the season, which is already the club's best tally for 10 years.

Tredwell's ton followed in the footsteps of Yasir Arafat, Rob Key, Darren Stevens, Geraint Jones, Martin van Jaarsveld, Matthew Walker and Joe Denly.

That is just one short of the nine century-makers of 1997 - the season Kent finished as runners-up in three competitions.

For the record, they were Mark Ealham, Steve Marsh, Alan Wells, David Fulton, Trevor Ward, Graham Cowdrey, Matthew Fleming, Ed Smith and Ben Phillips.
