FORMER Kent skipper Chris Tavare has stood down from the club’s cricket and general committees after a five-year term of office.
The 51-year-old, a veteran of 259 games for the county who now teaches at Sevenoaks School, feels he needs to spend more time with his family following the recent death of his father.
He said: "I am stepping down from my committee responsibilities for family and personal reasons and do so with the knowledge that the club is in good hands.
"I remain committed to Kent County Cricket Club and it is something I may review in a few years as and when my circumstances change again."
