Nottinghamshire Outlaws v Kent Spitfires

PLAYERS from Kent and Nottinghamshire breathed a collective sigh of relief when the Twenty20 Cup quarter final was delayed by 24 hours.

Umpires Richard Kettleborough, Neil Bainton and Peter Willey called Lord’s at 2pm yestreday suggesting the match should be re-scheduled for this evening after heavy morning rain left Trent Bridge awash.

With the prospect of a bowl off looming ever nearer and talk of objections from other counties opposed to a re-scheduling, the call finally came through at 4.35pm giving Nottinghamshire permission to stage the game tonight from 5.30pm.

Kent team: Key, Denly, Hall, van Jaarsveld, Stevens, Jones, Dexter, McLaren, Arafat, Cook, Tredwell.
