CRICKETERS can be a superstitious bunch, none more so than new county captain Rob Key.
After a recent run of bad coin toss calls, Key asked his vice captain Min Patel to call the toss ahead of this week’s match against Durham in Stockton-on-Tees.
Patel called correctly, allowing Key to bat first, but that was where the England batsman’s luck ran out – within four overs he was out without scoring to a ball that shot along the floor.
