Sussex v Kent
KENT rested leading wicket-taker Amjad Khan for their final Frizzell Championship match of the summer against Sussex in Hove, which started this morning.
The Danish-born paceman took a well earned rest for the game that should decide second spot in the championship behind Nottighamshire.
For the first time this season Kent opted to play two spinners and it was off-spinner James Tredwell who was chosen to partner left-armer Min Patel.
Simon Cook was also rested for the first time this summer, allowing Robbie Joseph and opportunity to share the new ball with Martin Saggers.
Rob Key, who struggled through last week's game against Nottinghamshire with groin and shoulder injuries, surprisingly took his place at the top of the order after Kent won the toss and elected to bat.
The hosts, who could also claim second spot, were without Ian Ward through a neck injury and Zimbabwean Murray Goodwin who has flown home to be with his gravely ill father.
Kent: Fulton, Key, van Jaarsveld, Walker, Stevens, Dexter, O'Brien, Tredwell, Patel, Joseph, Saggers.
