THE Seven Fifty Motor Club returns for its annual visit to Lydden Circuit this weekend, with 14 races spread over the two days.

Saturday’s action starts at 9am, with the first of seven practice sessions.

The first race is at 12.05pm and will be the only round during the weekend for the Kit Car Championship, catering for over-the-counter, self-assembly cars.

Drivers in the 750 Trophy Championship, which is for Austin 7-based models produced by the factory and raced between the wars, and the 750 Formula Championship, the series around which the club was originally founded, will have two races during the afternoon.

And the attraction of close racing at minimal cost has made the Stock Hatch Championship so popular that there will be three heats as well as a final.

Saturday’s programme is completed with a round of the Locost Championship, a series for ultra-lightweight, home-built specials.

On Sunday, after 12.30pm practice, the Stock Hatches take to the track again at 2.35pm for the first of two heats, which will followed by a final at the end of the programme.

In the meantime, the Locosts will have their second race of the weekend, followed by some fast, door-handle to door-handle dicing in the Hot Hatch Championship which, as the name implies, is for modified, much quicker versions of the Stock Hatches.

Lydden Circuit is on the A2, eight miles south of Canterbury. Admission is £8 (£6 for pensioners). Entry for accompanied children, parking and paddock is free.
