Late show earns Lillywhites a point

Bromley 2 Havant & Waterlooville 2

A last gasp strike by Warren McBean rescued a precious point for 10-man Bromley against Havant & Waterlooville at an icy Hayes Lane on Saturday.

The game was deep into injury-time when a ball into the box caused a goalmouth scramble involving Ryan Hall and Adrian Stone and it eventually fell to McBean to score from close range.

Earlier, the visitors opened the scoring on eight minutes when Charlie Henry netted with a low shot.

Hall hit the inside of the post with a free-kick - but then he did level for the Lillywhites on the half hour mark, following up after McBean's initial effort had been parried by keeper Kevin Scriven.

Havant went back in front 19 minutes from time when Henry was tripped in the box by Kirk Watts and skipper Jamie Collins scored from the penalty spot.

Any chance Bromley had of getting back into the game appeared to be over soon afterwards when David Obaze was sent off for a second bookable offence, but McBean's late intervention stopped the rot after three disappointing defeats.

Meanwhile, Welling's trip to Basingstoke fell victim to the weather.
