Striker Leroy Lita has been recalled by Premier League Reading from his loan with Charlton.

He joined the Addicks on March 5 in a deal that was extended until the season's end.

He scored three goals in eight games during his spell at The Valley. Now the Royals need him in their fight for Premier League survival.

"Given that we can no longer qualify for the play-offs and Reading's situation in the Premier League, they decided to call him back," said manager Alan Pardew.

"We would like to thank Leroy for all his efforts."
