BRIAN LUCKHUST: Hopes to make an appearance at the Tunbridge Wells Festival

KENT president Brian Luckhurst will have a seven to eight-week course of chemotherapy in a bid to fight off cancer of the oesophagus.

The former England and Kent opening batsman, who is celebrating his 50th season with the county, hopes to make an appearance during Tunbridge Wells cricket week.

He has received hundreds of goodwill messages since his illness was revealed last week.
