Maher linked with move to Priestfield

GILLINGHAM could make a loan move for Southend’s experienced midfielder Kevin Maher.

The 31-year-old has been at the Roots Hall club for ten years but has recently been out of favour and has been linked with a move to Priestfield.

Maher and current Gills boss Mark Stimson are former team mates and the Southend man has also played alongisde Simon Royce, Garry Richards, Mark Bentley and Stuart Thurgood.

The former Tottenham trainee has made 454 apperances for Southend and captained their side when they made a return to the Championship in 2007.
